In Memory Of Joseph D. Simenstad

Joseph Douglas Simenstad, 31, of Issaquah, Washington, tragically passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in an avalanche on Stampede Pass. Born on March 11, 1986 in Bellevue, Washington, he was the youngest of three siblings.


Joe grew up in Issaquah, WA. He attended Sunset Elementary School, Pine Lake Middle School, and graduated in 2004 from Issaquah High School. Joe was a loved husband, son, brother, cousin, friend, uncle, and cherished member of his community.


Joe had a passion for the outdoors. He loved the water, swimming, boating, and jet skiing. He loved camping.

When winter came, he loved being up in the mountains, in the snow, snowmobiling. Joe loved to go to concerts and sporting events. He also loved to travel.


Joe was blessed with so much love from his family. Joe’s parents Scott & Maria and two brothers were his biggest supporters. He loved his family and their traditions. They were a real core meaning in Joe’s life. Joe leaves behind his greatest love, Sabel and their three dogs. They were married on November 1, 2014. Missed deeply by those who knew him, Joe's wife, parents, siblings, family, friends, and community have built the Joseph D. Simenstad guild in his memory.


Carrying on the legacy of giving, compassion, and putting others ahead of self, Joe's guild supports Seattle Children's Hospital Uncompensated Care.
